The Construct Group was established in 2008 and leads the way in the use of innovative modular steel-framed and composite steel plate technology in construction.
The Construct Team
Ken Owen, Managing Director
Ken has pioneered the development of permanent, steel-framed, modular stadia and is a co-founder of the Construct Group.
Previously he had his own business for 27 years specialising in M&E design and build and turnkey construction. He sold this in 2001 with the intention of taking early retirement, but this didn’t last long and prior to founding Construct he worked on various property and development related projects including refinancing Leeds United.
John Forsyth, Finance Director
John is a co-founder of Construct and for over a decade has been a financial consultant to start-up businesses, SMEs and high net worth individuals.
John’s expertise is in mergers and acquisitions; equity raising, restructuring, investment and trade finance. Prior to establishing Construct, John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, London, followed by several years in Corporate Finance with Samuel Montagu & Co (part of the investment banking division of HSBC) before taking various financial roles in the commercial sector.
We have offices in Buckinghamshire and Dublin and a dedicated R&D facility.
David Griffiths – Business Development Director
David joined Construct in 2009, bringing his unparalleled knowledge of stadia design, operation, safety and security.
David is a former Chief Executive of Wembley Stadium (leading the most profitable period of the venue’s 75 year history) and The Jubilee Sports Centre in Hong Kong. He has worked with and advised many leading projects including the Australian National Sports Institute, 4 new stadia in Angola and 8 new cricket stadia in India. David also chaired the European Venue Management Institute (EVMI) and regularly appears on television.
Vandre Nel, Senior Project Manager
Vandre has been with Construct since its early days.
Originally from South Africa, Vandre has worked all over the world managing construction projects using both steel and traditional building methods. He has extensive experience overseeing all aspects of steel framed, modular design and build projects from the manufacturing of steel elements through ground works to construction and commissioning.
